The Jeffersons



The Jeffersons is an American sitcom that was broadcast on CBS from January 18, 1975, through July 2, 1985, lasting 11 seasons and a total of 253 episodes. The show was produced by the T.A.T. Communications Company from 1975–1982 and by Embassy Television from 1982–1985. The Jeffersons is one of the longest-running sitcoms in the history of American television.
This television sitcom stars George Jefferson, who has become wealthy and successful in the dry-cleaning business. This affords him the opportunity to move into a ritzy high-rise in New York City. George is stingy, but means well, while his wife Louise (Weezy) is kind and generous. The show also features the Jefferson's wise-cracking maid, their interesting neighbors, and the building's officious doorman.

Classic sitcom done well. This was a staple of my childhood. I don't know who could sit down to an episode of the Jeffersons and not love it. And just try not to sing along to the theme song.
